Food Security Map

Hunger is a regional challenge, as 11.2% of the population lacks reliable access to sufficient, affordable, and nutritious food.

Virginia’s George Washington Region (Planning District 16) includes the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford, each with very diverse landscapes and socioeconomic conditions.

This site provides information for increased dialogue about regional food security challenges, ongoing efforts, and future opportunities to prioritize needs and support strategies where they are most needed.
